Whitening

Teeth whitening is the one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedure among patients between the ages of 20-50. Teeth whitening procedures are performed in the dental office or can be performed at home. Whitening the teeth 2-3 shades can make a significant difference in a persons smile There are two main methods of gel bleaching. One performed with high-concentration gel, and another with low-concentration agents. High-concentration bleaching can be accomplished either in the dental office, or at home. Performing the procedure at home is accomplished using high-concentration carbamide peroxide, using a plastic tray for a short period of time. The tray should be well-fitted to retain the bleaching gel. In ProSmile Clinic we use a Non Laser “Coldlight” Tooth Whitening called the Zoom device. The Zoom light activated whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin. The Zoom light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. The Zoom lamp increases the effectiveness of the gel by 26% or more, giving an average improvement of eight shades.
