G.B.R

Guided bone regeneration or GBR, and guided tissue regeneration or GTR are surgical procedures that utilize barrier membranes to direct the growth of new bone and soft tissue at sites having insufficient volumes or dimensions for proper function, esthetics or prosthetic restoration.

From our Cases

Case 1

Case 1: When we lose our tooth, resorption of the bone will occur, in an horizontal and vertical dimension. This is the case of a missing left lateral maxillary incisor, where an horizontal bone resorption occurs due to the resorption of the alveolar process. A guided bone regeneration will be indicated to restore the hard and soft tissues already lost. In this case the patient refuses to have a dental implant, where a zirconium bridge is placed after 4 months of healing. Surgery done by Dr Walid El-Kattar

Case 2

Case 2: This a 52 old lady who was referred by her G.P for recession around dental implants in position 24 (first upper left premolar). A flap is elevated and bone resorption took place around implant 24 and 25. A guided bone regeneration is indicated to rebuild the lost bone and establish the fuction around these two implants. We use a xenograft like Gen Mix and autogenos bone 50%/50%, and a resorbable collagen membrane. Surgery done by Dr Walid El-Kattar

Case 3

Case 3: This is a 20 years young girl who was referred by her orthodontist to restore her missing left upper central incisor. A residual ridge width of 4mm of crest is remaining. A dental implant is placed on the remaining ridge and the use of an xenograft like Bio-Oss and a collagen membrane can rebuild all the bone around the dental implant and restore the shape of the ridge for a better esthetic and function outcome.
